Our "Green" StudioLIFT PILATES is located at 817 4th Street, on the corner of 4th and G Streets, in downtown Davis. Built with a concern for the environment, our new studio is a “green studio” with beautiful cork floors and sustainable materials throughout.. After many years in our small space, we now over 1500 square feet of space, with plenty of seating for you while you’re waiting for your class to begin, cubbies for your shoes and clothes, a massage studio, a restroom, a check-in desk, and so much room for you to work out! We have plenty of 3 hour FREE parking in the garage next to the studio. At Lift Pilates many of our instructors teach the STOTT PILATES (www.stottpilates.com) method, and each of our instructors is STOTT PILATES trained. This is important because although our instructors have various backgrounds (fitness, post-rehab, physical therapy and dance) we all speak the same “Pilates language”, which means consistency for you in your sessions and classes, no matter which instructor you have. STOTT PILATES is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates, and is used by rehab and prenatal clients, athletes, celebrities and everyone in between. STOTT PILATES incorporates modern exercise principles, including contemporary thinking about spinal rehabilitation and athletic performance enhancement. STOTT PILATES differs from other Pilates methods in many ways. For example, some approaches may promote a flat back, whereas STOTT PILATES exercises are designed to restore the natural curves of the spine and rebalance the muscles around the joints, placing more emphasis on scapular stabilization. As well, there are more preparatory exercises and modifications to cater to many different body types and abilities, making it applicable to everyday life.

Class and Session DescriptionsPrivate Sessions Private Sessions are a wonderful personal training experience, and are perfect for those who enjoy one-on-one attention. This Pilates workout is perfectly tailored for your body’s needs. Many clients enjoy coming to the studio two to three times per week, while others are looking for a Pilates home exercise program. Whatever your Pilates needs, we will do our best to accommodate you.
Duet Sessions Perfect for couples or friends who enjoy working out together, these semi-private Pilates Sessions are tailored to suit your needs. Build core strength and become more flexible using the Reformer, Mat, Cadillac, Chair, Barrel and Jumpboard. This Pilates workout is fun and challenging!
Sculpted legs and long lean muscles is what you can expect from our Barre XS class! Ballet work plus the Pilates Springboard to round out your workout, making this a complete body sculpting class.
Reformer/ Equipment Classes Strengthen your deep abdominal and spine muscles (the "core") using the “Reformer,” a precision workout apparatus originally designed by Joseph Pilates. Precision Reformer exercises, we often use flowing movement on the Arc Barrel, core exercises on the Stability Chair and cardio-core-strength exercises on the Pilates Jumpboard to make this class unique. This complete workout lengthens, strengthens and tones all the muscles of your body, helps restore spine mobility, and helps to create better posture.
Springboard Classes Pilates Springboard is an invigorating full body workout that uses springs to lengthen and strengthen, Springboard style! You will perform exercises such as "magician circles", "the dolphin", "airplane", and "walks"...often while balancing on the Bosu ball...these exercises are challenging yet VERY FUN!
Jumpboard Classes Jumpboard is a snappy ½ hour cardio-core-strength workout that really gets your heart rate up. FANTASTIC ab and core strength work, Pilates Jumpboard uses the Reformer with a "jumpboard" attached, and goes back and forth between cardio training and strength training. Increases coordination, develops endurance, builds core strength, increases flexibility, and teaches you to move from your core/powerhouse. Some people can’t get enough of the Jumpboard!
Mat Classes Move from your core with greater ease and flexibility and access and strengthen the muscles of your deep abdominals and spine (the "core"). Improve your posture, gain strength and increase your flexibility. Incorporates mat exercises with strategic use of Toning Balls, Foam Rollers, Fitness Rings, Mini and Swiss Stability Balls. Choose from traditional “STOTT PILATES” Mat classes or “Pilates Mat with Sue,” which incorporates music and focuses on flowing Pilates movement and seamless transitions from one exercise to the next.
